Aftermath seems to be an appropriate blog name for philosophical thoughts from a retired mathematician.

It is impossible not to have a philosophy of life, for the statement, “I have no philosophy of life” is a philosophy of life.

At cocktail parties, the wisdom goes, one should not talk about religion, sex, and politics. At MIT, the wisdom was quite the reverse: religion, sex, and politics are the only things worth talking about. Until the November 2008 US Presidential election, this site will discuss politics. After that, I expect that religion and sex will have the upper hand.
